Paul is a third-generation electrician who comes from a long line of electricians. His grandfather, Lou Vehling, was a union president for many years, as well as president of the ALFI-CIO. Paul’s father was also a union electrician for forty years. Prior to starting his own business, Paul spent twenty years in the union as a foreman working on large projects, such as MetLife Stadium.
Paul started PLV Electric on his own out of his garage, while still working a fulltime position with the union. As the business grew, Paul became established as a Generac dealer, affording him the opportunity to leave the union and pursue his dream of making PLV Electric his fulltime focus. Realizing customers looking to purchase generators were being overcharged and underserved, Paul began to stake his claim in the standby generator space and PLV Electric customer base began to grow steadily.
Paul’s work ethic, as well and his demand for high quality craftmanship, which was taught to him by his father, grandfather and Local 52 IBEW, quickly set him apart from the rest. With an emphasis on fair pricing and unparalleled customer service, PLV Electric grew to become one of the largest dealers in the state of New Jersey. This business was started by Paul alone and continues to grow one satisfied customer at a time. The excellent service provided by PLV Electric has earned them several awards from Generac, including Power Pro Premier Dealer and Leadership in Innovation.
PLV Electric now has offices in East Hanover, with their main office in Tinton Falls New Jersey. Each location has sales, service, and repair departments, which are fully staffed with the best team in the generator business.
