ALLENTOWN-ROBBINSVILLE GIRL SCOUTS ROBOTICS TEAM UPDATE

The Allentown-Robbinsville Girl Scouts Robotics team, the Robo Girls, learned how to code and program a robot, demonstrated FIRST Lego League Core Values, and in- vented an innovative accessible playground safety feature.

At their first competitive FLL tournament, they faced off against 23 other teams and were one of only two all-girl teams. The Robo Girls won the “Rising Star Award,” which is given to the outstanding rookie team. The team’s youth coach and Gold Award candidate, Melissa Domen, took home the “Best Mentor Award.”

Melissa Domen is a mentor of the Robo Girls Allentown- Robbinsville Girl Scout Robotics Team. She is also the co-leader of the business team- Allentown High School Robotics.
