Mattison Crossing at Manalapan Avenue is a premier retirement community in Freehold, New Jersey. The community offers assisted living and memory care services to residents.
The facility provides residents with the opportunity to be part of a community that celebrates individuality while also delivering superior senior care with a staff of professionals who are highly experienced, knowledgeable and caring; a staff that are highly devoted to making sure their residents are always treated with respect and dignity and that they receive the personal attention they deserve, even in these troubling times due to Covid-19.
Daily living as one grows older can be challenging enough, throwing that in the mix with a life altering virus can be downright devastating leading to even bigger challenges for both the residents and staff alike. Ensuring that the residents and the team members who work there remain well is the main priority at Mattison Crossing during these unsettling times.
While many Senior communities have been hit particularly hard this past year and have been on lockdown, Mattison Crossing has been working through these challenging times and finding ways to keep their residents safe and engaged to counter the isolation felt by many and to bring a sense of normalcy back to their lives.
With restrictions still in place, they have been following the State guidelines by using social distancing methods, keeping to smaller groups of people while dining and during activities, preventing co-mingling of units, wearing masks, and maintaining visitor restrictions.
Activities that once were taught by instructors are now being offered virtually. Residents are still able to enjoy Zumba, Tai -chi, yoga, and more, all while being safe.
Mattison Crossings also has six courtyards on their grounds with walking paths where residents are free to walk outside in the fresh air as long as they are wearing a mask.
They also have fun activities daily such as; grab and go happy hours and themed days where residents can pick up drinks and snacks and take them back to their rooms to enjoy. Some social activities include arts and crafts sessions, game nights and lectures and classes. All are held safely according the State’s guidelines.
Chairs are set up outside by the French doors to allow window visits from family members and cell phones are provided so loved ones can talk to their families. Families can also visit with residents outside for a short length of time as long as they follow restriction guidelines of six feet apart and the wearing of masks. Family members can also Facetime their loved ones.
Residents leaving the facility for any reason or those coming from rehab or the hospital must be quarantined for 14 days as a precaution to everyone else. Those quarantined residents are visited by team members throughout the day and engage in many different activities in their apartments.
At Mattison Crossing, a person’s quality of life is the top priority. The staff is tested weekly and the facility has both rapid five minute testing for Covid and also a 24 hour testing service.
