Millstone Student of the Month — Olivia Pereira

Sixteen-year-old Olivia Pereira, from Millstone Township, is a junior at Allentown High School. She loves her school and the fact that she gets to see her friends on a daily basis. She especially enjoys learning and experiencing new adventures with her friends by her side. Her favorite subject is Spanish. She enjoys reading the Divergent Series and the Selection Series. Her favorite TV shows are Teen Wolf, Vampire Diaries, and So You Think You Can Dance.

She likes to play the guitar in her free time and is leaning toward becoming a lawyer in the future. Her favorite place to visit is Marco Island with her Grandpa. She feels that her mom and dad are the most amazing and supportive parents anyone could ask for. Her mom has always taught her to believe in herself and to always strive to reach her dreams. Olivia has an older brother Nick and an older sister named Angela, whom she considers not only her siblings but also her best friends. Olivia’s speaks fondly of her Grandma as the most warmhearted, funny, and caring person that she has ever met. She loves spending time with her Grandma.

Her Grandpa on her dad’s side is Portuguese and Olivia loves learning about the culture and hearing stories from him about his life when he lived in Portugal. Olivia has three dogs: Chloe, Chico and Laila. She also has four cats: Sammy, Allie, Charlie, and Pep. Her favorite holiday is Christmas. Olivia has been a dancer since she was three years old and is trained in Ballet, Hip Hop, Lyrical, Contemporary, Cheer Funk, and Acro.

She is a member of the Spanish Honor Society, Student Council, Leo Club, The Nutshell Newspaper, and the Debate team. Olivia received a certificate for being an Outstanding Student in early 2014 for her Excellent Aademic Achievement. Her favorite food to eat would be crepes. If she could have one wish it would be for all of her family and friends to be safe and healthy.

Olivia loves animals and works at a Veterinary Hospital. She loves having the opportunity to help and care for the animals that she comes in contact with. Good luck to you, Olivia as you continue through the school year. Never stop reaching for your dreams!
